Welcome to 2010!

h1 Saturday, April 17th, 2010

It’s 2010 and things have changed. I haven’t updated this blog in so long. I’ve been checking on all my domain names and social networks this week. I am planning on updating some and adding more features to others. I am liking that I can update wordpress automaticaly now. I hated updating it before because I would need to save all the plugins and themes I custom made and added it to the new update. Sometimes things would break. Just the time to backup everything and moving files all over the place made it hard to the point I hated updating.

Last year I lost some stuff I loved. I lost my favorite radio station, KLSX. I lost some podcasts I liked listening to also. My credit card decided to raise their rates which really is hurting me now. I need to ask for them to drop the rates. Sigh! The local popeyes I used to go to all the time has been closed. Arghhhh!! My non work computer decided to cause me problems so I had to reinstall windows due to a hard drive failure. I didn’t lose too much, though. Been worried about family health problems but things have seemed to be going well now. Had to go to jury duty twice. One federal and the other local.

Not everything is bad. Puente Hills mall has an Imax theater but not really a huge screen which is a disapointment. I have been experimenting with youtube videos with some accounts I have. I am getting good feedback, views and subscriptions. Some of those videos had enough views that I was offered a partnership but those videos weren’t family oriented so I was denied. I am going to try to do some videos on my personal account and see if I can get a partnership. Not sure what I want to do with it. I am not an actor, singer or comedian. I’ve been thinking of doing reviews for products or websites. Maybe making videos with second life or LOTRO can be interesting.

I don’t listen to radio anymore unless I am driving. I usually put on a music station. The only two talk radio stations I can listen to are, KFI and KABC. Recently Tim Conway Jr. moved back to Los Angeles and has his own show on KFI. If you haven’t listened to him before you really should! Frosty, Heidi and frank have thier own show on KABC in the mornings. They are hilarious!! I listen to their podcast as much as I can. I only listen to podcasts now. Here are the podcasts I love and recommend: PGP, Keri Kasem and FHF. There are some other podcasts which are good on Hottalkla but I don’t have the time to listen to them all.

This year I am going to push myself as hard as possible with my business. I really need to make more money from it or start looking for something else to do. I also want to make sure I am there for my family and friends. That is so important now more then ever to me. I don’t want to make any more mistakes or lose contact with friends again. I haven’t been playing online games as much as I used to. I love the freedom of doing what I want and being available for family and friends now. No more scheduling around raids or drama in an online world anymore.

Fm Talk Radio changes in Los Angeles

h1 Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Only thing I like about radio are the talk shows. Been a big fan of FM talk radio 97.1 and especially of Frosty, Heidi and Frank. Haven’t been listening to them on a regular schedule these past weeks but I download their podcasts every day. Was driving today when I found out the radio station changed to a music format. We don’t need another music station in Los Angeles.

Got home and started to search for news about this change and found some good posts about it: ben tao’s thoughts and mikenopolis with some good links. Such a sad day to find it out when I was driving hoping to have a good day laughing. Oh well.

Now I have to find another station to listen to or wait for the personalities I liked to find another place to talk. The only other station I liked was KFI but I find some stuff a bit too political. KABC is way too political for my taste too. I want a fun relaxing talk show to make me laugh. I remember when Phil Hendrie retired and now he’s back on radio stations again. So I’m hoping for the best but it really got me sad to find out about this. I’m glad I saved a lot of the podcasts so I can continue listen to their shows until they find a new home. Best wishes to them and all the fans.

Radio stuff

I just found out something new about a radio program I’ve been listening to for years. The program is Frosty, Heidi and frank show on 97.1 in Los Angeles. I haven’t been listening to them for months because I’m just too busy and don’t have a great way for me to listen. I heard that the program is streaming on the fmtalki.com website. Now I can listen to them live or save it so I can listen to them later. This is a very good thing because they do make me laugh.

I Also listen to other shows on other stations like John and Ken show onKFI. I can listen to them on the internet also! Probably the closest show I listen to which gets political sometimes. Sometimes they get extreme on issues but I do like the fact that they fight for what they believe in. They do it in a way that kind be vicious to some. I like them mostly cause they don’t follow any of the political party lines that the extreme radio personalities usually do.

I also listen to Coast To Coast AM with George Noory and Art Bell. I’ve been listening to art bell for over 10 years now. I love hearing all the weird people out there who might be aliens or vampires. I’m always willing to hear new conspiracies and mystical things. This show is syndicated every day and can be listened to on the internet!

The funniest show I listen to is Phil Hendrie Show which is syndicated across America. Been listening to him for years also and bought some of his cd’s. I even signed up to his website for a couple of months. I try to record his show myself so I can listen to them later. Hard to explain this show without listening to it first. Can be listened to on the internet for free or from his website by paying.

Of course there are Internet radio only shows also but I’ll post about them in another post in the future.
